I will post the Victorian Era Needlework Crafts I find interesting from the many archives I have access to. It will be necessary, however, to change some of the art supplies and vocabulary used in these crafts so that visitors will be able to make their own contemporary versions.
Victorians were noted as being very resourceful when it came to crafts and they believed that one could never have too many chachkes (or tchotchekes) displayed on one's mantle or bookcase. I will also include some of the history behind these projects when ever possible.

Articles and Patterns About Quilts: Both patchwork quilts and foundation piecing became especially popular during the Victorian era in the United States, although these types of quilts were produced prior in colonial America and England. Most of the quilts and patterns I will post about were produced just prior to the Civil War and continued to be published, sewn and written about all the way up to the 1940s.
